§ 7Packages & Services

The stays offered by Lakita Lodge are composed of two separate packages: (i) the package including accommodation and transportation, and (ii) the package including activities. Each package is offered as part of the reserved stay and may also be booked individually. Combining both packages allows guests to enjoy the full experience as presented on our website.

§ 8Activities & Weather Conditions

Activities are subject to weather and safety conditions. They may be modified, replaced, or cancelled at any time. No specific activity is guaranteed. No refund will be provided for activity changes due to weather or safety concerns. The Lakita Lodge team will inform guests of any changes as early as possible and will propose alternative activities where needed.

§ 9Responsibility & Equipment

All activity equipment provided is under the client's responsibility for the duration of the activity. Any damage or loss resulting from misuse or negligence will result in charges covering repair or replacement costs.

Misuse or negligence includes: failure to follow safety or usage instructions, use of equipment outside its intended purpose, and failure to take reasonable care of the equipment.

In the event of damage or loss, the client will be informed on-site as soon as reasonably practicable. An assessment of costs will be communicated within 14 days following the end of the stay; payment is due within 30 days of notification. Normal wear and tear is not considered damage.

§ 10Physical Condition & Health

Some activities require good physical fitness and involve inherent physical demands due to the natural environment and weather conditions of Swedish Lapland.

The client must disclose any pre-existing medical condition, physical limitation, or ongoing treatment that may affect their ability to safely participate. Lakita Lodge reserves the right to refuse access to any activity if the safety of the client or the group may be compromised.

Clients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who assumes full responsibility for the minor's participation.

A valid driving licence (category B minimum, as per Swedish law) is required to drive a snowmobile.

§ 11Allergies & Special Dietary Requirements

Lakita Lodge provides full-board meals prepared on-site and is committed to accommodating dietary requirements and food preferences to the best of our ability. Clients must disclose any food allergies, intolerances, or specific dietary requirements at the time of booking — this information is mandatory for confirmation of the reservation.

LevelExamplesOur commitment
PreferenceVegetarian, vegan, gluten-freeAccommodated where possible, best efforts
IntoleranceLactose, gluten sensitivityAccommodated with advance notice
Severe allergyNuts, shellfish, anaphylaxis riskSee note below

Our kitchen is a non-certified facility — we cannot guarantee the complete absence of cross-contamination with common allergens including nuts, gluten, dairy, and eggs. Clients with a known anaphylaxis risk are strongly advised to carry their own epinephrine auto-injector at all times and to inform the team of its location upon arrival. Lakita Lodge is located in a remote area of Swedish Lapland; emergency services response times may be significantly longer than in urban areas.

§ 12Insurance

Lakita Lodge holds professional liability insurance.

We strongly recommend that each guest takes out comprehensive personal travel insurance prior to their stay. Given the remote location and the physical nature of the activities, adequate insurance coverage is considered essential. We recommend your policy covers, at a minimum:

  • Medical expenses and hospitalisation
  • Emergency evacuation and repatriation
  • Trip cancellation and interruption
  • Accidental injury during outdoor activities (ensure dog sledding and snowmobiling are explicitly covered)
  • Personal liability

Standard travel insurance policies do not always cover adventure or outdoor activities — we strongly advise guests to verify the scope of their policy before departure. By confirming their booking, guests acknowledge this recommendation and accept sole responsibility for arranging adequate personal insurance coverage.

§ 12bisInsolvency Protection

In accordance with Paketreselagen (2018:1217), Lakita AB holds a travel guarantee (resegaranti) registered with Kammarkollegiet — the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency.

This guarantee protects you in the event that Lakita AB becomes insolvent or is otherwise unable to fulfil its obligations. If this were to occur, the guarantee ensures that amounts you have already paid will be reimbursed, and/or — if your stay has already begun — that you are able to return home.

§ 13Transfers

Airport transfers are included for Vilhelmina Airport and Hemavan-Tärnaby Airport. Flight details must be provided at least 14 days before arrival. In the event of changes or delays, Lakita Lodge will do its best to adapt, but cannot guarantee or refund any additional arrangements required.

§ 14Force Majeure

Lakita Lodge and Lakita AB shall not be held liable for the partial or total cancellation of a stay due to force majeure — defined as any unforeseeable event beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to: extreme weather, natural disasters, epidemics, governmental travel restrictions, or armed conflicts.

In such an event, Lakita Lodge will notify affected guests by email within 48 hours of the decision being made. Guests will be offered the choice between:

  • A transfer of their booking to an available date within the following 24 months
  • A credit voucher equal to 100% of amounts paid, valid for 24 months
  • A refund of amounts paid, less any costs already irrecoverably committed by Lakita Lodge

This clause does not affect the client's statutory rights under Swedish consumer protection law.

§ 15Liability Disclaimer

The activities offered by Lakita Lodge take place in a remote natural environment and involve inherent risks linked to weather conditions, terrain, wildlife, and the use of outdoor equipment. These risks cannot be entirely eliminated, even with appropriate safety measures in place.

Lakita Lodge cannot be held liable for any injury, loss, or incident resulting from:

  • A client's failure to follow safety instructions provided by the Lakita Lodge team
  • A client's failure to disclose relevant health conditions or allergies prior to arrival
  • A client's voluntary participation in an activity against the advice of the Lakita Lodge team

By confirming their booking, each guest acknowledges the inherent risks associated with the activities offered by Lakita Lodge and accepts these risks as part of their participation. This acknowledgement forms an integral part of the contractual relationship between the guest and Lakita Lodge.

§ 16Complaints — After-Sales Service

Any complaint should first be reported on site to Lakita Lodge, to allow immediate resolution wherever possible.

If the matter cannot be resolved on site, any further complaint must be submitted in writing within 15 days of the return date, with all relevant supporting documents, by registered mail or email to:

Lakita Lodge — Bäcklunda 110, 923 99 Storuman, Sweden
contact@lakitalodge.com

This procedure does not affect the client's statutory consumer rights under Swedish law.

§ 17Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by Swedish law.

In the event of a dispute, Lakita Lodge and the client will first attempt to resolve the matter amicably. If no amicable resolution can be reached, the client may refer the matter to the Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN) — the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes — which offers an independent, out-of-court resolution process:

ARN — Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, Sweden
www.arn.se

Failing resolution through the above, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of Swedish courts.
